Grouped together in the sunny Chapel courtyard last month, the five newest student leaders of Trinity Grammar School tied their Captain ties, with a little help from Principal Mr Farrer, for the very first time.
Next year, these ties will signify to them, and to other students, their role as mentors, leaders and role models.
“There are so many teachers who have believed in me and encouraged me to aspire for more – whether that be academically, through the cocurricular opportunities or most importantly, in being a good man,” Trinity’s incoming School Captain, Charles said.
“I am super proud to be able to give something back to the school that has done so much for me since arriving at Trinity in the Early Learning Centre (ELC)”.

Charles has been appointed his 2024 leadership position alongside Vice-Captains Ren-Hao, Edward, Nick and Andrew.
“On the one hand, I’m incredibly eager to represent my peers and contribute meaningfully to the school community,” Andrew said. “That being said, it will be difficult to match the high standards set by last year’s captains!”
The incoming cohort all detailed the importance of community and connection across the year levels, and each spoke to their hope to be leaders who are approachable, listen and lead by example.
Nick says that the prospect of being a representative for the students at Trinity “is profoundly meaningful” to him, and Edward expresses feeling incredibly “grateful” for the opportunity.
Within their portfolios, they will work together to promote and celebrate student voice, community activities and service opportunities, as well as key events across the school calendar.

“At Trinity, there’s a really profound feeling of mateship and belonging, which underpins our tight-knit community,” Ren-Hao said.
“I think it’s these values of inclusivity, integrity and service to others which made the school so special and beloved by the ‘green and gold’ community”.
A big congratulations to our newest student leaders!
