Year 7 and 8 Curriculum

The focus of the Year 7 and 8 curriculum is to develop enthusiastic learners who embrace the Trinity culture and community.

The curriculum for Years 7 and 8 at Trinity is designed as a two-year sequence. During these first and very important years of secondary education, students are introduced to the full range of learning opportunities on offer at the School, whilst also developing the personal, social and organisational skills which will hold them in good stead for the remainder of their education.

Core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science and LOTE run almost every day, giving students maximum opportunity to benefit from regular face-to-face teaching in these key areas. Humanities and Arts subjects also run on most days; however, students change between subjects on a more regular basis. Overall, the program sees students studying only eight subjects per term, giving them unrivalled opportunities to develop positive relationships with all of their teachers.

One of Trinity’s great strengths has always been the supportive learning relationships which develop between students and teachers. Our dedicated staff pride themselves on knowing each boy as an individual, and understanding his skills, passions, strengths and weaknesses. Seeing students more often makes it possible for these strong relationships to form and grow.
