Eleven in a row for TGS athletes

Congratulations to our athletics team for winning the AGSV Athletics Carnival for the eleventh year in a row!

The competition at Lakeside Stadium on Wednesday 12 September was fierce, with Marcellin College, Mentone Grammar and Ivanhoe Grammar fielding very strong teams in an attempt to prise back the trophy from Trinity. Moments of individual brilliance included Tom Sellwood’s performances in the 800m and 1500m races, and Will Murphy in the 100m event.

Typically, athletics is a sporting pursuit known for individual achievement; however, this victory would not have been possible without a strong overall team performance. Our senior athletes led the way, winning the majority of their events, and our relay teams performed exceptionally well.

At the end of competition, Trinity beat out second-placed Marcellin by 60 points. An impressive result by any measure. Full results from the day can be found here.
